Anthony Johnson
Management Specialist, Minor in Economics (Class of 2019 )
Anthony began his time at Rotman with his passions lying at the intersection of music and business. Throughout the course of his studies, he was heavily involved in student groups, both as President of the Black Ties Association and as President/Founder of UofT’s Music Factory. Through the latter, he secured a third-year internship at Warner Music Canada, where he learned about music publishing and contracts; this ultimately helped him secure a position at SOCAN right before graduation.
Since early 2020, he has been helping artists and participating in various panels and speaker events as the Outreach Coordinator for FACTOR, a public/private partnership dedicated to the growth and development of Canada’s music industry.
In parallel with his business endeavours, Anthony works as a music producer, songwriter, sound engineer and recording artist within Toronto’s underground pop and hip hop scene. Using some of the marketing skills developed notably within the Rotman Commerce program and community, he has been building a steady and loyal fanbase - his music is all available on Spotify & more under “Caj Flow”.
